A Welder’s typical day may include…
- Conducting daily safety risk assessments of processes and tasks.
- Reading, following, updating, and creating job instructions.
- Reading and verifying prints and details for assemblies.
- Using a variety of cutting equipment including bandsaw, iron worker, acetylene torch, plasma torch, cold saw, lathe, mill, drill press, etc.
- Using a combination of arc stick, mig, and tig, with a variety of wire and gas combination to combine parts and assemble structures for the plant as well as customer needs.
- Use of cranes and lifts as well as adjustable platforms to hold, lift, rotate, and move heavy steel parts that exceed 50lbs.
- Grinding, sanding, and cleaning steel parts.
- Prep for paint and paint parts, as well as finished assemblies.
- Packaging finished assemblies with banding, stickers, and box material.
What does RedBuilt do?
Our Delaware manufacturing facility builds engineered wood trusses, constructs wood-framed wall panels, welds structural steel frames, and assembles job packages for delivery direct to the construction site.
What do we look for in a Welder?
We are looking for a full-time, highly talented Welder to join our dynamic team. They will be a hardworking professional who likes to meet challenges and surpass expectations. To excel in this role, they will have an in-depth knowledge of welding machinery and electrical equipment. A successful candidate will have a steady hand with outstanding attention to detail and be comfortable interpreting designs, monitoring machinery, and assessing welded components. Most of all, they will be committed to the RedBuilt “Why” and dedicated to helping the company meet safety, quality and delivery goals by supporting the maintenance of equipment through their welding responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Minimum Qualifications)
- Knowledge of and ability to safely use hand tools, drill motors, grinders, roto hammers, saws-alls, porta band saws, skill saws, and be familiar with crew toolbox.
- Knowledge and ability to use shop power tools, band saw, chop saw, metal muncher, drill press, shear, brake, and power threading tools.
- Be able to safely use oxygen-acetylene cutting outfits, electrical welders, gas-powered arc welders, and mig wire feed welders.
- Proficient in cutting and welding of steel and aluminum.
- Be able to read blueprints, do lay out, and fabricate from them.
- Be able to organize and identify parts called out on drawing parts lists.
- 2,000 hours, in rate, or 24 months’ fabrication and shop work-related experience and/or training .
- Certifications and/or a combination of certification and work experience may be substituted at the discretion of management.
- Must be 18 years of .
- High school diploma or GED (not required, but a plus!)
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Work near moving mechanical parts and will occasionally be exposed to a risk of electrical shock.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally bend, squat and/or stoop.
- Manual and finger dexterity as required to perform daily job duties.
- Frequently works near or around moving mechanical parts.
- Exposed to a high level of noise in the work environment.
- Exposed to airborne particles.
- Work environment: Wood and steel processing, manufacturing operation.
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, including variations in temperature and precipitation.
Work in non-climate-controlled environments.

Shift/Hours: Monday through Friday (6am to 2:30pm)
