PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute fundamental welding tasks, including operating semi-automatic welder machinery and wire feeder, while visually discerning between acceptable and defective welds.
- Adhere to mini process sheets, ensuring accurate completion of all necessary documentation and the adherence to parts specifications.
- Utilize blueprints proficiently, identifying welding views, symbols, dimensions, beveling requirements, and interpreting Bill of Material (BOM) or component drawings.
- Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, such as grinders, cranes, hoists, and precision measuring devices, effectively and safely.
- Conduct self-inspections and manage basic hook-up and rigging tasks, employing chains and slings for hoisting when necessary.
- Utilize various measuring equipment, including tape measures, squares, fillet weld gauges, and conversion charts, both standard and metric.
- Demonstrate proficiency in identifying and employing a range of hand tools, such as wire brushes, pliers, wrenches, and magnetic drills, among others.
- Identify metal types based on blueprints, schematics, or Bill of Material specifications.
- Execute pre-heating and post-heating procedures, utilizing torches, temperature sticks, strikers, and heat-absorbent blankets as required.
- Ensure accurate identification of parts and materials at all times.
- Participate in random quality inspections to uphold ISO standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the departmental workspace.
- Adhere strictly to company policies regarding Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) usage.
- Follow established safety and health protocols, both job-specific and facility-wide, ensuring all tasks are performed safely.
- Participate actively in safety and health training sessions, demonstrating competency in accordance with training received.
- Bring attention to safety and health concerns, unsafe practices, and offer suggestions for improvement to management promptly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 6 months of prior welding experience and a willingness to learn new welding techniques.
- 2 inch plate experience.
- MIG welding experience.
