The Rework Welder would perform weld repairs, operate various assembly machines, assemble, load, and move materials within the work area while ensuring quality and production requirements are met.
Shifts: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
Pay: $15.00
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspects and identifies materials from the production line in need of repair.
- Inspect, measure, or test completed metal workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using measuring and testing devices.
- Set up, operate, or tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Layout, fit, or connect parts to be bonded, calculating production measurements, as necessary.
- Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
- Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys.
- Understand and comply with all OSHA safety standards.
- Understand and comply with Company safety requirements.
- Demonstrate safe work habits and proper care for tools and equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Activities:
- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating things.
- Wear Common Protective or Safety Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection, Hard Hats.
- Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
Requirements:
- Must be located in Phenix City, AL and have work authorization
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have 6 months of welding experience
- Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
- The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
- The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Welding Certificate -
