We are currently interviewing for a welder on 1st shift in Chippewa Falls, WI.

POSITION – MIG Manual Welder

JOB LOCATION – Chippewa Falls, WI

STARTING DATE – Immediately

EMPLOYMENT TERM – Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time

WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – 1st Shift (6am-4:30pm, Mon-Thurs, OT sometimes on Fri)

STARTING PAY – Based on Experience ($20.00-$24.25/hour)

EDUCATION– HS Diploma or equivalent , welding certificate highly desired

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – 1 to 3 years of related experience in a metal fabrication setting

As a Welder II, you will utilize manual welding skills to fabricate weldments according to specified standards, workmanship criteria, and production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up tools and equipment required for welding tasks.
  • Arrange and stage parts for welding and related processes.
  • Perform quality inspections according to the quality documentation and control plan, including documenting results.
  • Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Lead.
  • Keep the work area and equipment clean and organized, following prescribed safety procedures.
  • Read and understand basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondence.
  • Adhere to site efficiency standards.
  • Continuously learn and implement improvements for safety and quality standards and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the Lead.
  • Assist in other work areas as assigned.
  • Interpret welding symbols, print tolerances, and operate quality measuring equipment.
  • Work independently with no supervision.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the assigned work center.
  • Consistently produce quality work at the company's standard efficiency level for the assigned work center.
  • Cross-trained in multiple workstations.

Qualifications

  • : 1+ years of experience in a metal manufacturing environment.
  • Must pass AWS certifications for MIG welding in both steel and aluminum.
  • Basic knowledge of welding symbols, print tolerances, and quality measuring equipment required.
  • Consistently meet or exceed company PPM standards by producing high-quality work.
  • Obtain and maintain certifications in two or more welding processes specific to the employee’s location.
  • Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders.
  • Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions.
