Wind Engineer/Project Manager - Renewables Sector Northern Europe
AufgabenTÜV SÜD has a strong capability and track record for offering TIC services to the wind sector globally, and we recently started offering these services to the UK market, as both onshore, but especially offshore. Wind development in the UK is currently in a phase of significant expansion. Whilst we are currently supported by teams in other TÜV SÜD regions, we’ve started growing a UK-based team for delivery of projects, and now looking to expand this team within Northern Europe.We are looking to recruit a Wind Engineer/Project Manager to provide project management for jobs in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on wind energy, but could on occasion include project management for the wider GES business. This is partly a field-based role that may involve working away from home to deliver services directly on customer sites. There will be significant desk-based technical and administrative parts of the role, and the expectation is that these will be conducted at a TUV SUD office or home-working.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Defining project scope and objectives: You will need to work with stakeholders to define the project scope and objectives, and ensure that everyone involved understands what needs to be achieved. Ensuring creation of project plans and budgets at project initiation, and maintaining these through to project closure, updating in response to progress and change, as needed. Completing monthly financial reviews with division financial controller and management, including suitable preparation of material beforehand, ensuring that all information is current at the time of review. Advising at strategic level at the project inception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches Providing technical guidance and support throughout the construction, commissioning, and operation phases of offshore wind projects Undertaking business development activities as needed to help ensure a pipeline of work for yourself and the wider wind teams within TÜV SÜDQualifikationenEssential criteria: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, renewable energy or related field Knowledge and application of key project management principles, evidenced through a demonstrable track record, with experience in managing projects from start to finish, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Excellent knowledge and experience of prevailing codes, rules, standards and regulations relevant to the mechanical and control aspects of renewable energy generation. Strong technical expertise in offshore wind energy including site assessment, turbine selection, design review and operational wind farms. Able to identify and manage project risks and develop contingency plans if required Strong problem-solving skills and be able to find creative solutions to challenges that arise during the project Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interface with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels Competent in the use of standard IT equipment and software, including the Microsoft Office suite of application (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Confidence, pragmatism and good communication and assertiveness skills as well as service-oriented workDesirable criteria: Member of and/or chartered with, relevant engineering body Project management certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2
