About The Role
As a 3rd Line Wintel Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of managing and supporting critical IT systems. You’ll take ownership of implementing new services and applications while providing third-line support for our Windows server environment. You’ll also play a key role in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and ensuring that services run smoothly in line with agreed service levels.
Responsibilities
Configuration and support of core Windows server infrastructure (physical and virtual) as well as other related devices and applications
Provide technical assistance and guidance as required in BAU and Project workstreams
Responsible for providing effective and efficient utilisation of resources to sustain the systems and services required to meet customer expectations and requirements
Provide technical consultation on current and proposed Window systems.
Help resolve errors in the Windows Server landscape
Help the team configure, maintain, and administrate Windows equipment
Maintain Service Level Agreements (SLA) surrounding incidents and requests
Act as a technical escalation point to the tier two support team for incidents and service requests when required
Build processes, procedures, and documentation to ensure high quality customer support
Working with the Cyber Security Team to investigate and remove vulnerabilities
Part of a 24x7 on-call rota
Required Technical Experience:
Microsoft Windows Server OS systems (Windows 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2022)
Management and administration of Active Directory, Azure AD Connect, DNS & GPOs
Management and administration of ADFS, DFS, DHCP, IIS
Strong knowledge of MS 365 services and applications
Windows Systems backup and restore - Veritas NetBackup experience particularly advantageous
Strong knowledge of networking architecture and technologies
Management, risk and governance of 3rd parties and suppliers
Patch Management / WSUS
3rd line support experience
Microsoft SQL Server Experience
Microsoft 365 Administration Skills
Experience
Managing Active Directory Certificate services particularly advantageous
MS Endpoint Manager (SCCM) & SCOM particularly advantageous
Cloud platform technologies (AWS & MS AZURE) particularly advantageous
Working within the ITIL framework – ITIL certification advantageous
AWS, MS and Other Technology Certifications advantageous
Power Platform / MS Dynamics Experience
Microsoft Exchange Support Skills
