RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install and connect internal and external cabling. This will include both ethernet and fiber.
- Troubleshoot, test and repair cables, wireless systems.
- Rack and stack various wireless and network appliances in a data facility (IDF/MDF)
- Perform audits of wireless networks and ensure viability with network and recommend solutions for incompatibility.
- Monitor efficient installation of product at customer site and ensure efficiency of various engineering work.
- Maintain tools and test equipment for continuous use.
- Participate, adhere to, and support all safety related policies, processes, and programs. Engage with your work team to ensure we achieve zero injuries. Understand that no job is so important that your safety, the safety of your crew, or public safety will be compromised. Watch for hazards and report any concerns to your manager.
- Properly scope requirements for projects.
- Work and engage with other members outside of the Wireless Engineering department.
- Perform all work necessary to conform to quality control guidelines
- Perform all job-related duties as required by your manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- A good understanding of ethernet and fiber cables, their specifications and how they’re installed and terminated.
- A good understanding on how to properly install wireless equipment such as Wi-Fi access points (omni and directional), Point-to-Point radios, and CBRS radios.
- A basic understanding of what and how IDF’s and MDF’s are used regarding cabling and network infrastructure.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive personal or company vehicle to and form a job site.
- Must be able to travel when requested across the United States.
- Have the ability to be exposed to dust, dirt, noise, insects, and cleaning solutions.
- Have the ability to carry, climb and operate an extension ladder.
- Has a good understanding of electrical and DC principals.
- Can read and understand floorplans and drawings.
- Knowledge of concepts such as: Wireless Access Points, Point-to-Point radios, CBRS radios, RF Modulation, Channel Width, Channel Sizing, wireless surveys
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Certified Network Cable Installer (CNCI)
- Certified Wireless Technician (CWT)
- Experience in the telecommunication industry or with an ISP
- Experience with cable testing tools and systems.
