The Wireless Telecommunications Civil Construction Technician plays a key role in the deployment and maintenance of wireless infrastructure. This position involves working on-site to support the construction and civil engineering aspects of wireless tower and site builds, including site preparation, concrete work, trenching, grounding, and installation of related infrastructure. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working in various outdoor environments under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform civil construction tasks including grading, trenching, forming, pouring concrete, installing rebar, and erecting small shelters or equipment pads.

· Construct and install grounding systems, conduits, and utility vaults in accordance with project plans and electrical codes.

· Install fencing, signage, and other physical site components.

· Assist with the installation of fiber, coax, and power infrastructure from demarcation points to telecom equipment.

· Install and terminate power systems, junction boxes, and other enclosures associated with site infrastructure.

· Safely operate construction equipment including mini excavators, skid steers, compactors, and hand tools.

· Maintain and inspect tools and equipment to ensure optimal function and safety compliance.

· Complete daily field reports, as-builts, and photo documentation of construction activities.

· Ensure all work adheres to safety, quality, and environmental standards, as well as applicable codes and permitting requirements.

· Coordinate with foremen, crew members, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate project completion.

· Communicate effectively with team members and report field conditions, delays, or hazards to supervisors.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certifications ).

· Minimum 1–3 years of experience in civil construction, preferably within telecommunications or utility industries.

· Familiarity with reading construction blueprints and site plans.

· Knowledge of grounding, trenching, conduit installation, and concrete work.

· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 75 lbs.

· OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, and other telecom safety certifications are a plus.

· Must be authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Skills

· Experience working around or on telecommunications towers.

· Strong understanding of site safety requirements and practices.

· Ability to use laser levels, GPS survey equipment, or similar tools.

Work Environment

Travel required to various job sites, often across multiple states or regions. Outdoor work environment with varying terrain and weather conditions. Schedule may include nights, weekends, and extended hours based on project timelines.
