
Work Health and Safety Officer
Job Summary Our client is a clinical stage radiopharmaceutical company developing treatments to significantly improve survival and quality of life for patients with cancer. They are seeking a Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Officer to join their team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in promoting a safe working environment, implementing WHS policies, and fostering a culture of safety within the organisation. Key Responsibilities • Develop, implement, and maintain WHS policies and procedures. • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations, providing recommendations for corrective actions. • Coordinate and deliver WHS training programs, including emergency response and general workplace health & safety. • Collaborate with regulatory authorities to maintain compliance with all WHS-related licensing and reporting requirements. • Lead and support internal WHS committees, ensuring active participation in workplace safety initiatives. • Oversee personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and monitor adherence to safety standards. • Maintain WHS documentation, records, and incident reports to support regulatory compliance. Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • WHS certification (e.g., Cert IV in Work Health and Safety) is highly desirable. • Experience in WHS roles within radiopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or a related industry is advantageous. • Knowledge of WHS legislation, including OSHA, ISO standards, and other relevant safety frameworks. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all levels. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify risks and implement solutions.
