POSITION PURPOSE:
To support Operations teams with common capabilities, procedures, and tools to improve productivity. To improve operating efficiency through the development and maintenance of work measurement systems. To support production areas by providing accurate procedures and driving process improvements.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position reports to the Senior Training and Development Specialist.
This position is responsible for the creation and maintenance of accurate work measurement and productivity standards across multiple Operations teams within the Claims and Service Division. By using data and work measurement tools, this position provides insights into the people, processes, system applications, and tools to execute and manage processes and productivity. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the standards program by incorporating changes in workflow or work-mix and making appropriate adjustments, using the QuickBase (or other) system. Responsible for conducting workflow analysis, identifying the causes of operational deficiencies and proposing recommendations to improve workflow. Also responsible for documenting standards workflow and maintaining standards records. Engages with Operations teams to help achieve business objectives and supports user adoption of procedures and productivity standards. Responsible for oversight of departmental procedures to ensure that they are up-to-date, accurate, and reflect efficiencies noted during standard development.
The incumbent is responsible for maintaining our online procedure manual by authoring new procedures and updating existing ones in a format that is compatible with an online help system.
The incumbent is expected to support projects by participating in the development of project scope, analysis and operation function, and development of work measurement standards. The individual will participate with, or function as a project leader for projects or programs directed at improving efficiency, productivity, and quality, as assigned.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Prepare work measurement standards.
Maintain reference of methods, standards and historical data.
Develop and implement project plans and meet target dates.
Perform workflow analysis and recommend changes to improve efficiency.
Address new procedure requests submitted by other business areas and coordinate tasks that will keep our online procedure manual, Q-Pedia, up-to-date with current policies and procedures.
Act as back-up support with procedures.
Support Training staff as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
AA degree (or commensurate experience)
Understanding of all healthcare processing systems (i.e. Claims adjudication system, data entry system, imaging and documentation system, etc.)
Experience with workflow management and/or CRM (Customer Relationship Management) applications.
Experience in process improvement initiatives and analyzing workflow in order to draft procedure manuals.
Ability to positively influence and collaborate with business users and stakeholders.
Time management and organizational skills a must.
Ability to apply critical thinking skills to solve problems that arise.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment supporting multiple operations areas.
Thorough knowledge and comprehension of operational procedures.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and write operational procedures.
Practical experience with productivity standards system.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
