Workshop Crane Mechanic

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a workshop crane mechanic at EnerMech. The workshop crane mechanic's responsibility will be to safely carry out the inspection, service, repair, and test of equipment brought into the workshop for a specific equipment type. · Ensure all equipment complies with the relevant in-house company and industry standards. Requirements Main Responsibilities: Responsible for Inspection, service, repair and test of all equipment brought into the workshop hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical dependent on equipment allocation and experience Type of equipment involved may relate but not be limited to winches, pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hot oil flushing of hoses and pipework, hook balls / blocks, crane booms Responsible for ensuring workshop area is kept clean & tidy and all company equipment is kept in good order Responsible for acting in a safe and professional manner at all times in the workshop or onsite Responsible for ensuring project requirements are met within time allocated or raising with supervisor if there is an issue with this Responsible for working as part of a team with members of the workshop and other departments Responsible for upholding the standards of the company and work in line with the company systems and objectives may be required to work on site locally as and when required Recognized Qualifications: Essential: Apprenticeship or equivalent experience / formal qualification Experience in repair and maintenance of equipment as described in section 3 Preferred: First Aid at Work national qualification Good cranes or hydraulics knowledge Behaviors and Personal Qualities: Essential: Performs varied assignments requiring a thorough working and theoretical knowledge of the discipline Understands and interprets relevant standards, performs most tasks and requires minimal supervision Uses technical knowledge to influence and direct project outcome Challenges status quo in new ways to solve discipline specific problems Provides technical leadership on specific projects Continually extends range and depth of own skills and knowledge Questions and confirms understanding of how own work activities support and align with HSE targets and business goals Supports the positive safety culture in the organization Intervenes to highlight or ‘stop the job’ in response to poorly-managed hazards or required control measures Encourages the identification of issues and concerns Preferred: Conducts and/or supervises complex tasks requiring advanced knowledge of key skills or a thorough working knowledge of a range of key skills Uses expertise to effectively challenge current policies/standards and to develop new techniques or approaches Advises and guides others within scope of competence Demonstrates good knowledge and understanding of HSE behaviors and expectations Intervenes to correct poor performance and non-compliance with safety policies Participates appropriately in the identification of hazards, the assessment of risk and the identification of required control measures Encourages employee involvement in HSSE
